Digital Education Revolution
It is an exciting time in the world of digital education.
The Commonwealth Government’s Digital Education Revolution has a National Secondary Schools Computer Fund component which aims by 2012 to provide Years 9 to 12 students with a 1:1 computer ratio.
The NSW Department of Education and Training’s DER NSW program aims to achieve this ratio with a wirelessly enabled laptop for their individual use by the end of the program.
South Western Sydney Region will provide a range of professional development initiatives to build capacity in the region of all staff integrating laptops across Key Learning Areas with a focus on quality teaching.

Overview
The SWSR KLA Curriculum Innovators Showcase Day is an opportunity to view some exemplary samples of integration of DER software into the curriculum as a result of the original SWSR KLA Curriculum Innovators Training Initiative.
Select presenters from schools across the South Western Sydney Region will be showcasing examples of how they have implemented an example of DER software in the classroom and give short introductory hands-on tutorials.
The KLA Curriculum Innovators Initiative is a major professional development program aimed at supporting the Digital Education Revolution (DER NSW) in South Western Sydney Region. Four staff members (from different KLAs) from every secondary school and two staff members from special school settings had the opportunity to be trained in the use of selected Adobe and DER NSW software programs.
The initiative aims to build a sustainable level of ICT capacity at your school, by training a team of staff members in core software programs that form part of the DER laptop rollout.
